FRANKLIN, Tenn., May 6 (UPI) -- Angela Stanford shot a 6-under 66 Saturday to take a four-stroke lead into the final round of the American Mortgage Championship at Franklin, Tenn.
Stanford was at 18-under-par 198 through three rounds -- breaking the previous 54-hole record of 204 set by Lorena Ochoa in 2004. She will be looking for her second LPGA title on Sunday, her first in three years.
Cristie Kerr also shot 66 Saturday to move into a tie for second place at 14-under 202 with Sophie Gustafson.
Gustafson -- who set a course record in the second round with a 63 -- had a 68 in her third round.
Sharing fourth at 13-under 203 are Pat Hurst (66), Ji Yeon Lee (67) and Patricia Meunier-Lebouc, who dropped from second place after a 70.
Stanford started Saturday with six straight pars, then ran off five straight birdies starting at No. 7.
