NEW YORK, May 6 (UPI) -- Jose Reyes hit two doubles and a single and scored two runs Saturday to help the New York Mets edge Atlanta, 6-5, for their fourth straight win.
Kazuo Matsui hit a two-run double and Carlos Delgado had two hits and one RBI for the Mets (21-9), who have won nine of their last 11 games.
The Mets have built a nine-game lead over the Braves in the National League East.
Jeff Francoeur and Adam LaRoche hit home runs, while Edgar Renteria extended his hitting streak to 22 straight games -- dating back to last season -- for the Braves (12-18). Atlanta has dropped its last four games and nine straight road games.
In relief, Bartolome Fortunato (1-0) picked up his first major league win. Jorge Julio earned his first save.
The loser was Atlanta starter Tim Hudson (2-3).
Mets' starter Victor Zambrano left the game in the second inning with an elbow ailment.
