MLB: San Diego 11, L.A. Dodgers 5

LOS ANGELES, May 4 (UPI) -- Josh Barfield and Geoff Blum hit home runs in a 5-run San Diego eighth inning, as the Padres posted an 11-5 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Wednesday night's rally was part of a 10-run barrage by San Diego against Dodger relief pitching. Franquelis Osoria (0-2) surrendered hits to each of the five Padres he faced in the loss. San Diego's Scott Cassidy (0-1) managed to get the win despite giving up the lead in the seventh.

Los Angeles starter Jae Seo left the game after giving up five hits and one run over six innings but the bullpen failed to keep the Padres in check.

The score was tied 4-4 after the teams traded 3-run rallies in the seventh inning. Vinny Castilla opened the inning with a single and Barfield delivered his home run. Blum followed with a pinch-hit home run to make the score 7-4 and the lead grew to five with runs scoring on a wild pitch and a sacrifice fly.

Blum singled in Barfield and scored on a base hit from Mike Cameron in the ninth to make the score 11-4.
