MLB: Cleveland 7, Chicago WSox 1

CLEVELAND, May 2 (UPI) -- Travis Hafner hit a three-run homer in the first inning Tuesday to start the Cleveland Indians to a 7-1 victory over the Chicago White Sox.

Jhonny Peralta was 3-for-5 with an RBI and a pair of runs scored for the Indians, who snapped a three-game losing streak. C.C. Sabathia (1-0) made his first start in a month, and allowed one run on five hits with four walks for the victory.

Joe Crede was 3-for-5 with an RBI for the White Sox, who saw a four-game winning streak come to an end. Paul Konerko and Rob Mackowiak both were 2-for-4 in defeat.

White Sox lefthander Mark Buehrle (3-2) allowed seven runs on 13 hits with three walks and three strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
