MLB: Texas 8, Cleveland 4

CLEVELAND, May 1 (UPI) -- Michael Young and Phil Nevin each knocked in two runs during a six-run seventh inning Sunday night as the Texas Rangers beat Cleveland, 8-4. Hank Blalock and Kevin Mench both had two hits; Gary Matthews Jr. homered and scored two runs; while Mench, who had his seven-game home run streak broken on Saturday, extended his hitting streak to 14 games for the Rangers (13-12), who have won seven of their last 10 games. Winner Vicente Padilla (3-1) gave up four runs and six hits in six innings with two walks and five strikeouts. Victor Martinez hit three doubles and scored twice; Travis Hafner went 2-for-4 with an RBI; and Grady Sizemore had two hits and one run for the Indians (13-12), who have lost two straight. The losing pitcher was reliever Jason Davis (1-1). Cleveland starter Jake Westbrook gave up four runs and six hits in seven innings with two walks and seven strikeouts.
