MLB: Philadelphia 8, Florida 5

MIAMI, May 1 (UPI) -- Pat Burrell's home run in the top of the eighth was the game-winner Monday as the Philadelphia Phillies came from behind to beat the Florida Marlins, 8-5.

David Bell had two hits and Shane Victorino drove in two runs for the Phillies. Starter Ryan Madson went 5 1/3 innings and gave up five runs on eight hits with three walks and five strikeouts.

Rheal Cormier (1-0) earned the win after pitching two-thirds of an inning. Tom Gordon pitched a scoreless ninth to earn his seventh save of the season.

Dan Uggla finished a triple short of the cycle, going 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored for Florida. Dontrelle Willis (1-2) gave up eight runs on eight hits with a walk and six strikeouts over 7 1/3 innings for the Marlins, who have lost four straight games.
