DETROIT, April 29 (UPI) -- Carlos Guillen had two hits and drove in four runs Friday night as the Detroit Tigers pounded Minnesota, 9-0.
Marcus Thames and Chris Shelton hit home runs; Placido Polanco had three hits, scored twice and had one RBI; while Ivan Rodriguez also had three hits for the Tigers (14-9), who have won seven times in their last nine games.

Winner Nate Robertson (3-2) scattered five hits over seven scoreless innings with one walk and seven strikeouts.
Shannon Stewart had two hits; and four other players had one hit for the Twins (14-9). Minnesota has dropped six of its last eight games.
Losing pitcher Brad Radke (2-3) was pounded for six runs and nine hits in just 2 1/3 innings with one walk and two strikeouts.
