CHICAGO, April 28 (UPI) -- Jacque Jones and Ronny Cedeno both had three hits, one hit and two RBI Friday afternoon as the Chicago Cubs beat Milwaukee, 6-2.
Both players hit home runs while Juan Pierre had two hits and scored twice for the Cubs (13-8), who have won four of their last five games.
The winning pitcher was veteran right-hander Greg Maddux (5-0), who continued his strong start by scattering eight hits and two runs in six innings. He walked one and fanned six. This the first time the 40-year-old Maddux has opened a season with wins in his first five decisions.
Loser David Bush (2-2) gave up five runs and 10 hits in six innings with no walks and three strikeouts.
