Coria, Ferrer reach third round in Spain

BARCELONA, Spain, April 25 (UPI) -- Third-seeded Argentine Guillermo Coria and fifth-seeded Spaniard David Ferrer were among second-round winners at the $1.055 million Open SEAT event.

Tuesday, Coria lost the first set against Spanish wild card Galo Blanco but came back to win 6-7 (4-7), 6-0, 6-2. Wednesday, Coria plays Spaniard Nicolas Almagro.

Also Tuesday, Ferrer needed three sets to defeat Britain's Andy Murray 4-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-1. Ferrer will face Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka in the round of 16. Wawrinka beat Russian Teimuraz Gabashvili 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 6-4.

A second-round upset saw Almagro defeat 13th-seeded Frenchman Gael Monfils 6-2, 6-4. Almagro is currently on a seven-match winning streak, having claimed his first-ever ATP title in Valencia just two weeks ago.
