DETROIT, April 23 (UPI) -- The Edmonton Oilers overcame a two-goal deficit Sunday to beat Detroit, 4-2, and even their Western Conference playoff series at 1-1.
Fernando Pisani and Brad Winchester scored goals less than a minute apart late in the second period for the Oilers, who suffered a 3-2 double-overtime loss in the opener of the best-of-seven series on Friday night.
Justin Williams and Henrik Zetterberg had goals; Robert Lang, Steve Yzerman, Tomas Holmstrom and Niklas Kronwall had assists; and goalie Manny Legace, who faced 23 shots, made 20 saves for the Red Wings, who suffered a rare home-ice loss.
On the power play, Detroit went 1-for-4 while the Oilers were 0-for-3.
Game 3 is Tuesday night at Edmonton.
