MLB: Tampa Bay 7, Baltimore 4

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., April 12 (UPI) -- Jonny Gomes hit a grand slam in the eighth inning Wednesday night as Tampa Bay beat the Baltimore Orioles, 7-4.

Gomes, the Devil Rays' designated hitter, also walked three times and Ty Wigginton added a two-run homer for Tampa Bay (4-5), which broke a two-game skid.

In relief, winner Shawn Camp (1-0) gave up one run and one hit in 1 1/3 innings. Starter Casey Fossum allowed three runs and four hits with four walks and three strikeouts and closer Dan Miceli earned his third save.

Kevin Millar hit two home runs and drove in three runs; and Jay Gibbons hit a solo homer and had two hits for the Orioles (4-5).

Baltimore had its two-game winning streak snapped. Losing pitcher Sendy Rleal (0-1) yielded three hits and four runs in just 1/3 of an inning.

Baltimore starter Daniel Cabrera walked nine and struck out 10 in five innings.
