MLB: Cincinnati 6, Pittsburgh 5

CINCINNATI, April 6 (UPI) -- Adam Dunn knocked in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the eighth inning Thursday night as Cincinnati edged the Pittsburgh Pirates, 6-5.

Reliever David Weathers worked a perfect ninth for his second save. Dunn also hit a solo homer.

Tony Womack went 2-for-5 with two RBI and Javier Valentin added two hits. In five innings, starter Brandon Claussen gave up three runs and five hits with no walks and five strikeouts.

Jose Castillo had three hits, Jason Bay added two, and former Red Joe Randa hit a three-run homer for the Pirates. Loser Mike Gonzalez (0-1) surrendered the winning run on three hits in the bottom of the ninth inning.

The Pirates dropped to 0-4 for the first time since 1994.
