NHL: Detroit 2, Calgary 1 (SO)

CALGARY, Alberta, April 4 (UPI) -- Pavel Datsyuk and Jason Williams scored in the shootout and gave the Detroit Red Wings a 2-1 victory over the Calgary Flames.

Detroit, which has piled up an NHL-best 112 points, won its ninth consecutive road game and has tied the league mark with 28 road victories.

The goals by Datsyuk and Williams beat Calgary goalie Miikka Kiprusoff, who totaled 41 saves in the game, including 15 in the third period and in overtime.

Red Wings' goalie Chris Osgood stopped shoot-out attempts by Matthew Lombardi and Jarome Ignila to end the game.

Calgary took a 1-0 lead with 40 seconds left in the first period when Dion Phaneuf scored his 18th goal of the season.

Detroit tied the score at 6:12 of the second period on Steve Yzerman's 14th goal of the season.
