DENVER, April 3 (UPI) -- Brad Hawpe's RBI fielder's choice in the 11th inning Monday gave the Colorado Rockies a 3-2 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Hawpe was 2-for-4 with a run scored and Todd Helton added an RBI double for the Rockies.
Jason Jennings pitched his first game since July 20 of last season and went seven innings. He allowed one run on six hits with six strikeouts for Colorado. He also went 1-for-2 from the plate with a RBI. Mike DeJean (1-0) picked up the win after pitching a scoreless 11th inning.
Brandon Webb made his first Opening Day start and pitched seven innings, allowing one run on five hits for Arizona. Offseason acquisition Jason Grimsley (0-1) was charged with the loss for allowing the run in the 11th inning.
