LOS ANGELES, March 31 (UPI) -- Tim Duncan had 20 points and 13 rebounds Thursday night as San Antonio beat the Los Angeles Lakers, 96-85. Tony Parker totaled 19 points, two rebounds, six assists and two steals; Nazr Mohammed had 12 points, eight rebounds and three steals; Robert Horry had 12 points, six rebounds and three assists; and Duncan also had four assists and blocked three shots for the Spurs (56-16). San Antonio, which has won three of its past four games, leads the Southwest Division by two games over Dallas.
Kobe Bryant had 23 points, seven rebounds and two assists; Lamar Odom added 13 points, six rebounds and two assists; while Sasha Vujacic had 11 points and two rebounds for the Lakers (38-35). Bryant was held scoreless in the fourth quarter and committed six turnovers. Los Angeles, which had a four-game winning streak broken, remained seventh in the Western Conference playoff race, 1 1/2 games ahead of Sacramento.
