EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., March 24 (UPI) -- Scott Gomez and Brian Gionta both had a goal and an assist Friday night to boost New Jersey past Boston, 4-2.

Former New Jersey defenseman Ken Daneyko, who spent his entire 18-year NHL career with the Devils, was honored prior to the game as the team retired his number.

New Jersey ended a three-game losing streak behind seldom-used goaltender Scott Clemmensen. He made 25 saves.

Boston has lost nine out of 11 as Andrew Raycroft was replaced in goal after giving up three goals on 15 shots.
