COL BKB: Pittsburgh 79, Kent State 64

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., March 18 (UPI) -- Five players scored in double figures Friday as Pittsburgh beat Kent State, 79-64, in the Oakland bracket of the NCAA Tournament at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

Aaron Gray had 17 points, 13 rebounds and five blocked shots; Ronald Ramon scored 16 points; Sam Young added 12 points and two rebounds; Carl Krauser had 11 points, nine assists and two rebounds; and Levance Fields had 10 points, two assists, two rebounds, a steal and a blocked shot for the 5th-seeded Panthers, who rose to 25-7 and will play 14th-seeded Bradley in the second round on Sunday.

Kevin Warzynski had 15 points and four rebounds; and both Jay Youngblood and Omni Smith scored 10 points for the 12th-seeded Golden Flashes, who finished their season with a record of 25-9.

Pitt out-rebounded Kent State, 27-23.
