JACKSONVILLE, Fla., March 18 (UPI) -- A long three-pointer by Darrel Mitchell with 3.9 seconds remaining Saturday gave LSU a 58-57 win over Texas A&M in the Atlanta Bracket of the NCAA Tournament.
The second-round contest was played in Jacksonville, Fla.
Glen Davis had a game-high 21 points, eight rebounds and two steals; Mitchell had 16 points, seven rebounds and two assists; and Garrett Temple added eight points and four rebounds for the 4th-seeded Tigers (25-8), who will play top-seeded Duke in the Sweet 16 next Thursday in Atlanta.
Acie Law had 15 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals; Antanas Kavaliauskas had 12 points, six rebounds and four assists; and Josh Carter scored nine points for the 12th-seeded Aggies, who ended the season at 22-9.
A&M out-rebounded the Tigers, 33-31.
