Henin-Hardenne in semis at Indian Wells

INDIAN WELLS, Calif., March 17 (UPI) -- Justine Henin-Hardenne and Elena Dementieva both won their quarterfinal matches at the Pacific Life Open Tennis Tournament at Indian Wells, Calif.

Henin-Hardenne, the top seed, beat No. 17 Gisela Dulko of Argentina, 6-3, 6-2; and Dementieva, who is the fourth seed, out-lasted Ana Ivanovic of Serbia, 2-6, 6-4, 6-2.

Henin-Hardenne, the world's No. 3 player, has a chance to win this tournament for a second time in three years. She will face Dementieva in one of Friday's semifinals.

In the other, third-seeded Maria Sharapova goes against Martina Hingis. Saturday's Pac Life titlist will earn $332,000.
