PHILADELPHIA, March 17 (UPI) -- Abdulai Jalloh had 23 points and six rebounds Thursday night as St. Joseph's beat Rutgers, 71-62, in the first round of the NIT at Philadelphia.
Rob Ferguson added 17 points and five rebounds; and Pat Calathes had 12 points, five rebounds and three assists for the Hawks, who rose to 19-13.
Saint Joe's will meet Hofstra in the second round.
Quincy Douby had 30 points, five rebounds and blocked two shots; and J. R. Inman added 12 points and eight rebounds for the Scarlet Knights, who ended the season with a record of 19-14.
