ST. LOUIS, March 13 (UPI) -- Christian Backman scored the game-winning goal in overtime Monday to give the St. Louis Blues a 3-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Scott Young and Mike Glumac also scored a goal and Jay McClement assisted on all three goals for the Blues, who have won three of their last five games.
Curtis Sanford, who left the game with a strained left knee, made 14 stops before being replaced by Patrick Lalime in the second period. Lalime also finished with 14 saves.
Rick Nash and Jason Chimera each scored a goal and Pascal Leclaire made 28 stops for the Blue Jackets, who had a two-game winning streak snapped.
After a scoreless third period forced overtime, St. Louis scored the game-winner with 1:11 remaining in the extra period.
