MILWAUKEE, March 13 (UPI) -- The Milwaukee Bucks nearly blew an 18-point lead Monday before hanging on for an 88-87 victory over the Atlanta Hawks.
Bobby Simmons led a balanced attack with 18 points. Michael Redd added 16 points and T.J. Ford 14 points and eight assists for the Bucks, who had five players in double digits in scoring. Milwaukee stopped a five-game home losing streak.
Josh Smith scored a career-high 25 points to lead Atlanta's scoring before fouling out late in the fourth quarter.
Salim Stoudamire added 21 points and Joe Johnson had nine points, a career-high 17 assists, and nine rebounds for the Hawks, who lost for the fourth time in their last five games.
