NHL: Anaheim 5, Phoenix 3

GLENDALE, Ariz., March 12 (UPI) -- Rob Niedermayer scored two goals to help lead the Anaheim Mighty Ducks to a 5-3 defeat Saturday of the Phoenix Coyotes at Glendale Arena.

Jonathan Hedstrom had a goal and two assists and Teemu Selanne and Francois Beauchemin added goals for the Mighty Ducks. Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 14 saves for Anaheim.

Geoff Sanderson, Steven Reinprecht and Shane Doan scored for the Coyotes. Curtis Joseph stopped 31 of 35 shots in the loss.

The two teams will play Sunday at the Pond.
