INDIAN WELLS, Calif., March 12 (UPI) -- James Blake was a three-set, second-round winner Saturday at the $2.725 million Pacific Life Open in rainy California.
The 12th-seeded Blake won his sixth straight match by beating wild card Sam Querrey 1-6, 6-1, 6-3 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.
Rain pushed third-seeded Andy Roddick's second-round bout with Argentine Jose Acasuso to Sunday. Fifth-seeded Russian Nikolay Davydenko and Britain Andy Murray also had their second-round match postponed.
Thirteenth-seeded Fernando Gonzalez, 17th-seeded Tommy Robredo, 24th-seeded Igor Andreev, 28th-seeded Carlos Moya and number 32 Fernando Verdasco also had scheduled second-round matches moved to Sunday.
Among Saturday's first round winners was Chilean Nicolas Massu, who outlasted Argentine Augustin Calleri in the day's most competitive match. Massu won a hard-fought tiebreak in the final set to record a 6-1, 5-7, 7-6 (12-10) decision.
