BOSTON, March 3 (UPI) -- Marco Sturm netted the game-winning goal Thursday night as the Boston Bruins edged Atlanta, 3-2.
Glen Murray and Tom Fitzgerald also scored goals; Wayne Primeau, Brad Stuart, Milan Jurcina, Dan LaCouture, Brian Leetch and Brad Boyes had assists; and Andrew Raycroft made 20 saves for the Bruins (25-24-10), who broke a three-game losing streak. Boyes has eight points (one goal, seven assists) in his last six games.
Ilya Kovalchuk had a goal and an assist; Peter Bondra scored a power play goal; Jaroslav Modry, Marian Hossa and Jim Slater added one assist each; and goalie Kari Lehtonen made 28 saves for the Thrashers (26-27-6), who had three-game winning streak snapped.
Atlanta out-shot Boston, 31-22. The Flames were 1-for-5 on the power play; the Bruins went 1-for-4.
