MEMPHIS, March 2 (UPI) -- Pau Gasol sank a jump shot with 2.7 seconds left to play Wednesday night, lifting Memphis to a 101-99 win over the New York Knicks.
Overall, Gasol had 23 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Chucky Atkins scored 21 points; and Eddie Jones had 20 points, five rebounds and three assists for the Grizzlies, who shot over 50 percent on three-pointers in the contest. Jones and Atkins went a combined 8-for-14 on treys.
Stephon Marbury had 25 points and 13 assists; Steve Francis added 19 points, two rebounds, five assists and two steals; and Qyntel Woods had nine points, four rebounds and one assist for the Knicks (15-42), who have dropped five in a row, 21 of their last 23 games, and are guaranteed their fourth straight losing season.
New York out-rebounded Memphis, 30-28.
