COL BKB: George Wash. 78, Fordham 67

NEW YORK, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- Maureece Rice had 19 points, two assists and two steals Saturday to help 6th-ranked George Washington beat Fordham, 78-67, for its 16th straight victory.

It is the nation's longest winning streak.

Carl Elliott had 16 points, four assists and four rebounds; and Mike Hall added 10 points and five assists for the Colonials (24-1, 14-0 Atlantic 10), who were playing their first game without star center Pops Mensah-Bonsu. He is lost for the rest of the regular season because of a knee injury.

Marcus Stout had 18 points and two assists; Jermaine Anderson had 17 points, two assists and six rebounds; and Bryant Dunston added 11 points, seven rebounds and five blocked shots for the Rams (12-15, 7-7 A-10), who have lost four in a row.

Both teams had 31 rebounds. The Rams committed 17 turnovers, and GW made 15.
