COL BKB: Tennessee 83, Georgia 78

ATHENS, Ga., Feb. 11 (UPI) -- Chris Lofton had 33 points and six rebounds Saturday as 14th-ranked Tennessee outlasted Georgia, 83-78, for its seventh straight win.

It was the second straight game that Lofton broke the 30-point barrier. He had 31 points when the Volunteers beat Kentucky, 75-67, on Tuesday. In this one, he was 7-for-10 on three-pointers.

Andre Patterson added 15 points, six rebounds and three assists; C.J. Watson had 11 points and five rebounds; and JaJuan Smith had 10 points and four rebounds for the Volunteers (18-3, 9-1 SEC), who took a two-game lead over Florida in the SEC East.

Levi Stukes had 20 points, five rebounds, two assists and three steals; Younes Idrissi added 14 points and four rebounds; and Sundiata Gaines had 13 points and seven rebounds for the Bulldogs (14-9, 4-6 SEC).

The Volunteers won the rebounding battle, 34-24.
