COL BKB: Purdue 84, Michigan 70

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind., Feb. 11 (UPI) -- Marcus Green scored a career-high 23 points Saturday as Purdue upset No. 22 Michigan, 84-70.

Purdue had three other players in double figures and took a commanding 47-27 lead at halftime.

Marcus White added 15 points, four assists and two rebounds; Chris Lutz had 14 points and two rebounds; and Gary Ware had 14 points and two assists for the Boilermakers (9-14, 3-9 Big Ten), who won for only the second time in their last seven games. Green, who was 9-for-13 from the floor, sank four three-pointers in the first half.

Ron Coleman had 18 points and seven rebounds; Chris Hunter finished with 16 points and four rebounds; and star guard Daniel Horton was held to eight points for the Wolverines (16-6, 6-5), who suffered their third straight defeat. Both Dion Harris and Lester Abram missed the contest with ankle injuries.

Michigan out-rebounded Purdue, 28-21.
