NFL: Pittsburgh 21, Seattle 10

DETROIT, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Willie Parker set a record with a 75-yard touchdown run in the third quarter Sunday as Pittsburgh beat Seattle, 21-10, in Super Bowl XL in Detroit.

The dash came just 22 seconds into the second half, with the Steelers leading by only 7-3. Pittsburgh also got a 43-yard touchdown pass from wide receiver Antwaan Randle El to fellow wide-out Hines Ward, who was the game's MVP after five receptions for 123 yards.

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had a 1-yard scoring run.

The Steelers ended the season with eight straight wins on the road and won the Super Bowl for the fifth time in six appearances.

Seattle's Matt Hasselbeck was 26-of-49 passing for 273 yards, one touchdown and one interception; Shaun Alexander gained 95 yards on 20 attempts but place-kicker Josh Brown missed two of his three field goal tries.

The Seahawks were making their first Super Bowl trip.
