Massu, Acasuso to play in Movistar final

VINA DEL MAR, Chile, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Fifth-seeded Nicolas Massu and No. 3 Jose Acasuso will play in Sunday's final of the Movistar Open tennis tournament at Vina del Mar, Chile.

In Saturday's semifinals, Massu beat two-time champion Fernando Gonzalez, 3-6, 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 and Acasuso beat Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo, 6-2, 6-4.

The 25-year-old Gonzalez was attempting to reach the championship match for the fourth time in five years. He won the tournament in 2002 and 2004 but lost the final to Gaston Gaudio in 2005.

Both Gonzalez and Ramirez Hidalgo won $18,000 for reaching the semifinals.

Gonzalez had teamed with Massu to capture the gold medal in doubles at the 2004 Athens Olympics. Sunday's champion will pocket $52,500.
