VILLANOVA, Pa., Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Allan Ray had 28 points and four rebounds Saturday as 4th-ranked Villanova beat Marquette, 72-67.
Randy Foye added 24 points, three rebounds and two assists; and Kyle Lowry totaled six points, seven rebounds, three assists and five steals for the Wildcats (17-2, 8-1 Big East), who overcame a 10-point deficit early in the second half to record their sixth straight win. Villanova won the contest despite shooting only 31.8 percent from the field.
Steve Novak had 18 points and six rebounds; Dominic James added 15 points, three rebounds and four assists; and Jerel McNeal added 14 points and eight rebounds for the Golden Eagles (16-7, 6-4), who have lost two of their last three games.
Villanova out-rebounded Marquette, 31-30.
