BLOOMINGTON, Ind., Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Rudy Gay had 19 points and 12 rebounds Saturday as top-ranked Connecticut beat No. 21 Indiana, 88-80, for its eighth straight win.
Hilton Armstrong had 16 points and eight rebounds; Josh Boone had 16 points, six rebounds and three blocked shots; Marcus Williams added 12 points and nine assists; Denham Brown had 11 points and two rebounds; and Rashad Anderson had 10 points, three rebounds and two assists for the Huskies (20-1).
Marshall Strickland had 16 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals; Marco Killingsworth had 15 points, six rebounds and two assists; Roderick Wilmont added 14 points and three rebounds; and Robert Vaden had 12 points, two assists and nine rebounds for the Hoosiers (13-6), who shot only 37.7 percent from the floor -- and made just 10 of 29 three-pointers.
Indiana, which was out-rebounded, 42-34, has lost three of its last four games.
