"We are a team in transition and need to play our young guys," said Raptors General Manager Wayne Embry. "Out of respect to Aaron, I thought it best for him to be with a team where he has a chance to play and that is in a playoff hunt."

Williams has played in 14 games this season, averaging 1.8 points per game with 1.1 rebounds.

Williams, 34, has played in 612 career games with Utah, Milwaukee, Denver, Vancouver, Seattle, Washington, New Jersey and Toronto averaging 6.2 points and four rebounds per game.
