COL BKB: Seton Hall 68, Syracuse 61

SYRACUSE, N.Y., Jan. 29 (UPI) -- Jamar Nutter had a game-high 19 points, six rebounds and two assists Sunday as Seton Hall beat No. 24 Syracuse, 68-61.

It was the Pirates' second straight victory against a ranked team, following their 83-65 rout at No. 14 North Carolina State on Wednesday.

Donald Copeland had 18 points and eight assists; Kelly Whitney had 14 points and nine rebounds; and Grant Billmeier added nine points and nine rebounds for the Pirates (12-6, 3-3 Big East), who have won three straight.

Gerry McNamara had 15 points, five steals and two assists; Terrence Roberts had 12 points and 13 rebounds; and Demetris Nichols had 12 points, six rebounds and three assists for the Orange (15-6, 3-4 Big East).

Syracuse has lost its last four games.

Seton Hall won the battle of the boards, 40-37, but committed 24 turnovers to 17 by the Orange.
