BOSTON, Jan. 27 (UPI) -- In his first game with Boston Friday night, Wally Szczerbiak had 10 points, three rebounds and two assists to help the Celtics beat Sacramento, 84-74.
Paul Pierce had 18 points, seven rebounds and six assists; Kendrick Perkins added 13 points and 11 rebounds; Raef LaFrentz added 12 points and 10 rebounds; and Al Jefferson had 13 points and five rebounds for the Celtics (18-25). Boston has won four of its last six games and broke a four-game losing streak against the Kings.
In his Sacramento debut, Ron Artest had 15 points and six rebounds. Brad Miller had 22 points and five rebounds; Kenny Thomas added 12 points and 12 rebounds; and high-scoring shooting guard Mike Bibby was held to eight points for the Kings (18-25), who have dropped four of their last five games.
The Kings made 14 steals, but were beaten badly in rebounding, 53-31.
