NHL: Montreal 5, Philadelphia 3

PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 26 (UPI) -- Jan Bulis scored four goals Wednesday night as the Montreal Canadiens beat the Philadelphia Flyers, 5-3.

Bulis' first career four-goal game helped the Canadiens snap both a three-game overall and seven-game road losing streak.

Craig Rivet, Tomas Plekanec, Francis Bouillon and Niklas Sundstrom all had one assist and Cristobal Huet made 24 saves for the Canadiens (22-19-6), who broke a three-game losing streak overall.

Simon Gagne, R.J. Umberger and Freddy Meyer all scored once; Randy Jones had two assists; Donald Brashear, Derian Hatcher and Peter Forsberg all assisted once; and goalie Robert Esche made 10 saves for the Flyers (30-12-8), who have dropped five of their last seven games.

Forsberg had to leave after the first period because of a left groin strain.

The Flyers won the shots on goal battle, 27-15. On the power play, the Canadiens were 1-for-4. The Flyers went 1-for-7.
