LA JOLLA, Calif., Jan. 26 (UPI) -- On a tightly packed leader-board, Brant Jobe and Thomas Levet share the lead by one stroke after the first round of the Buick Invitational at La Jolla, Calif.
Over the first 18 holes, both sit at 7-under-par 65. They are being chased by a group of nine players at 6-under 66 -- including Stuart Appleby, Jerry Kelly, and Skip Kendall.
Twelve players finished 5-under 67 -- including Billy Mayfair, Jesper Parnevik and Steve Lowery. Still another eight players carded a 4-under 68 -- including D.A. Points and K.J Choi.
A group of players at 3-under 69 includes John Daly, Sergio Garcia and Bernhard Langer. One day after grabbing headlines for a $38 million new home purchase in Jupiter, Fla., defending champion Tiger Woods shot a 1-under 71, as did 18 other players.
