ST. LOUIS, Jan. 23 (UPI) -- Curtis Sanford stopped 34 shots Monday for his third shutout of the season to lead the St. Louis Blues to a 4-0 victory over the Vancouver Canucks.
Christian Backman had a goal and an assist and Mike Sillinger, Vladimir Orszagh, and Petr Cajanek also scored for the Blues, who ended a nine-game losing streak.

Maxime Ouellet stopped 19-of-22 shots for the Canucks, who had a four-game winning streak stopped.
Vancouver pulled its goaltender with over two minutes to play to try and generate some offense.
