NHL: Boston 3, Washington 2

WASHINGTON, Jan. 23 (UPI) -- Wayne Primeau scored twice and Tim Thomas stopped 22 shots on goal Monday as the Boston Bruins beat the Washington Capitals, 3-2.

Brad Boyes scored the game-winning goal late in the second period. Eric Nickulas and Brad Isbister each had two assists for the Bruins, who have won three of their last four games.

Brian Willsie and Brooks Laich each scored a goal and Brent Johnson stopped 30 of 33 shots for the Capitals, who had a four-game winning streak snapped.
