WASHINGTON, Jan. 19 (UPI) -- Alexander Ovechkin and Matt Pettinger each scored shoot-out goals Thursday night as Washington beat the St. Louis Blues, 5-4.
In regulation, Ovechkin had a goal and an assist as did Chris Clark; Ben Clymer and Brian Willsie added goals; Nolan Yonkman had two assists; and Olaf Kolzig made 30 saves for the Capitals (16-24-5), who have won three in a row.

Mike Sillinger, Dean McAmmond and Scott Young each ended with a goal and an assist; Dallas Drake had two assists; and Curtis Sanford made 26 saves for the Blues (10-29-6).
The Blues out-shot the Capitals, 38-34. St. Louis was 3-for-8 on the power play, and Washington went 1-for-6.
