NHL: Detroit 4, Columbus 0

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Jan. 19 (UPI) -- Tomas Holmstrom scored two goals Wednesday night as the Detroit Red Wings blanked Columbus, 4-0.

Mathieu Schneider and Mark Mowers both scored once; Mikael Samuelsson and Pavel Datsyuk each had two assists; and goaltender Chris Osgood made 26 saves for the Red Wings (31-12-3). Detroit has won three in a row and all five of its games against the Blue Jackets this season.

Goalie Pascal Leclaire stopped 37 of the 41 shots he faced for Columbus (16-29-2), which had a two-game winning streak broken.

The Red Wings had a large 41-26 edge in shots on goal. Detroit was 3-for-7 on the power play while the Blue Jackets went 0-for-7.
