Several coaches fired by Green Bay

GREEN BAY, Wis., Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Six assistant coaches and two staff members of the Green Bay Packers were fired on Friday, one day after Mike McCarthy was hired as the new head coach.

It continues an off-season house-cleaning by the team.

Tom Rossley (offensive coordinator), Joe Baker (secondary/safeties), Larry Beightol (offensive line), John Bonamego (special teams), Mark Duffner (linebackers), Barry Rubin (strength and conditioning), Bruce Warwick (director of football operations) and Vince Workman (weight room assistant) were all told they would not be retained by McCarthy.

The Packers fired Mike Sherman as coach on Jan. 2. On the same day, wide receivers coach James Franklin left to become the offensive coordinator at Kansas State.
