NHL: New Jersey 3, Philadelphia 0

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Jan. 9 (UPI) -- Martin Brodeur made 22 saves in his second shutout of the season and Scott Gomez had a goal and an assist as New Jersey defeated Philadelphia, 3-0.

Zach Parise and Jamie Langenbrunner each scored a goal for the Devils, who have won four in a row for the first time this season. Patrik Elias and Brian Gionta had two assists each for New Jersey.

Philadelphia goalie Antero Niittymaki stopped 13 of the 16 shots he faced for the Flyers, who failed to get a point for the first time while on their franchise record 11-game road trip.
