COL BKB: Kansas 73, Kentucky 46

LAWRENCE, Kan., Jan. 7 (UPI) -- Brandon Rush recorded 24 points and 12 rebounds Saturday as un-ranked Kansas clobbered No. 21 Kentucky, 73-46.

Russell Robinson scored 12 points and C.J. Giles had 10 points and six rebounds for the Jayhawks (9-4), who have built a six-game winning streak since a 70-67 loss to St. Joseph's on Dec. 6. Kansas bolted to a 25-8 lead near the midway point of the first 20 minutes, led by 41-19 at the half, and cruised home.

Rajon Rondo and Joe Crawford each scored nine points in Wildcats Coach Tubby Smith's worst loss at Kentucky.

UK was an abysmal 21 percent in shooting in the first half, missed all nine of its three-point tries, and shot just 24 percent for the game.

The Jayhawks out-rebounded Kentucky, 45-36.
