COL BKB: Florida 90, Georgia 72

ATHENS, Ga., Jan. 7 (UPI) -- Joakim Noah scored a career-high 24 points Saturday as 5th-ranked Florida blasted Georgia, 90-72, to remain unbeaten.

Taurean Green added 21 points, six rebounds and five assists; Lee Humphrey had 18 points, two rebounds and three assists; and Al Horford recorded 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Gators (14-0, 1-0 SEC), who tied a school record with their 14th win in a row. Florida also won 14 straight games during the 2001-02 and 2002-03 seasons.

Steve Newman scored 15 points while Terrance Woodbury and Sundiata Gaines each had 14 points for the Bulldogs (10-4, 0-1), who had a three-game winning streak broken.

Florida scored the first five points and raced out to a 16-5 lead, but Georgia scored 12 in a row to take a 17-16 lead before falling behind, 38-33 at halftime.

Both teams had 32 rebounds. Georgia committed 15 turnovers while Florida made 14.
