COL FB: Alabama 13, Texas Tech 10

DALLAS, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Jamie Christensen kicked a 45-yard field goal as time ran out Monday to give 13th-ranked Alabama a 13-10 win over No. 15 Texas Tech in the Cotton Bowl.

Brodie Croyle passed for 275 yards and a touchdown for the Crimson Tide (10-2), who snapped a two-game losing streak to close out the season. Alabama was playing to the Cotton Bowl for the first time since 1982.

Kenneth Darby led the Crimson Tide running game with 81 yards on 29 carries.

Cody Hodges threw for 196 yards on 15-of-32 passes with a touchdown strike to Jarrett Hicks for the Red Raiders (9-3), who had their three-game bowl winning streak stopped. Hodges also rushed for 66 yards.

After the Red Raiders tied the score at 10-10 with under three minutes remaining in the game, the Crimson Tide put together a 10-play, 58-yard, game-winning drive.
