NFL: Minnesota 34, Chicago 10

MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 1 (UPI) -- Brad Johnson threw for 247 yards and two touchdowns Sunday as the Minnesota Vikings trounced the Chicago Bears, 34-10.

The Vikings (9-7) ran up 396 total yards of offense against mostly reserves as the Bears rested most of their starters prior to the playoffs.

Johnson completed 27-of-40 passes and had no interceptions. Michael Bennett had 82 yards and one touchdown on six carries; Mewelde Moore rushed for 57 yards on six carries and also had six receptions for 44 yards and a touchdown; Travis Taylor had five catches for 68 yards and a touchdown; and Nate Burleson made six catches for 66 yards for the Vikings, who were eliminated from NFC play-off contention after a loss at Baltimore last Monday night.

For the Bears (11-5), Kyle Orton was 6-of-14 for 59 yards. Jeff Blake went 7-for-8 for 44 yards and one touchdown and Thomas Jones rushed for 62 yards on 12 attempts.
