ATLANTA, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- Sami Kapanen scored with 13 seconds left in overtime Wednesday night to give Philadelphia a 4-3 win over the Atlanta Thrashers.
Kapanen, who took four shots on goal in the contest, also registered one assist for the Flyers (23-8-5), who have played five straight one-goal contests and three games of an 11-game road trip. They have won five road games in a row.
Simon Gagne, Brian Savage and Branko Radivojevic also scored once and goalie Antero Nittymaki made 28 saves for Philadelphia.
Niclas Havelid, Andy Sutton and Eric Boulton each had a goal while Michael Garnett recorded 28 saves for the Thrashers (16-16-6), who have lost only twice in their last seven games.
The Flyers out-shot Atlanta, 32-31. Philadelphia went 0-for-5 on the power play while Atlanta was 0-for-2.
