TAMPA, Fla., Dec. 26 (UPI) -- Dan Boyle scored with 33.6 seconds left in overtime Monday as the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Carolina Hurricanes, 5-4.

Dave Andreychuk scored two goals and Fredrik Modin had a goal and an assist for the Lightning, which ended a four-game losing streak.

John Grahame stopped 26 shots in the victory.

Eric Staal had a goal and an assist for the Hurricanes, who saw a five-game win streak come to a halt. Martin Gerber made 36 saves in defeat.
